Playa Junquillal
Junquillal Beach, is a very important area for the reproduction in the Pacific of Costa Rica of the threatened Leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea), Black (Chelonia mydas agassizii) and Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) turtles.
Seeking to mitigate the looting of turtle nests and to increase the welfare of the local population of Junquillal, Asociación Vida Verdiazul has launched the Pacific Leatherback Turtle Conservation (CBP) project to ensure optimal conditions for nesting turtles. , through active conservation with community support.
